Fake News to War of The Worlds

Image result for fake newsIn class today we read an article entitled War of the Worlds. While reading we learned that people freaked out and thought that there were aliens coming to Earth when they actually weren't. We also read an article entitled Fake News, which is about how you should be careful on what you read and that people that have fake news websites make money. Both these articles can relate to each other because they both talk about how you should research what you hear or read. And you can never be too careful when reading to make sure you are not reading anything that is biased.

Tempest Theme

I think the theme of the tempest is forgiveness because Prospero forgave his brothers after they dethroned and banished him. After all the bad things his brothers did Prospero still forgave them. This is why I think forgiveness is one take-away from the tempest.

Tempest Translation

I have picked ten lines from "The Tempest" to translate into the way we would say it now.

Act 1, Scene 1, Lines 1-12

Master: Hey!

Boatswain: What's up?

Master: Good news, I have been speaking to the sailors. We might be able to sail!

Boatswain:Yay, yay, yay! I am happy! Let's go sail! Let the wind blow!

The Tempest

I understood a little bit more compared to last time we watched the "Tempest"

Prospero's brother was trying to convince someone to kill his brother to get more power.

Then it showed Caliban in a very odd scene.

I understood a little bit but am still confused.

The Tempest

Mr. Croy played a video in class that was "The Tempest"

I understood the play a little bit more because of the actors and subtitles.

The play was still confusing even with the actors and subtitles though.

I understood that there was a storm caused by Prospero.

Ariel is a interesting character that is Prospero's slave.

I am reading the Tempest

Mr. Croy is making us read "The Tempest" by William Shakespeare.

I am very skeptical on that I am going to understand it but I am going to do the best I can.

We read ten lines in class and I understood almost none of it.

I am going to try to enjoy it because Mr. Croy seems to like it and enjoy it too.
